You Can Spit on Me!

In the wee morning hours the day after my youngest daughter was born, she spit up on me. As I was holding her on my shoulder, I told her, "That's okay, Rose. You can spit on me." That phrase turned into a poem and that poem turned into a children's picture book about how even though love can be messy, it's worth it.
